Transitions
- Moving effects that are applied to slide(s) are called transitions.
- If you've ever seen a presentation, one slide in it shows a certain effect going to the next slide, this is the transition.
- In the presentation, the slides appear to show a special effect and then go away after a while showing a special effect.
- In the slideshow, we apply transitions to the slides, when and how the second slide will appear after one slide.
After putting slides into PowerPoint's presentation and inserting data into them, our next task is to apply transitions to these slides so that our presentation can be more elegantly presented. Inside the transitions menu / tab there are built-in effects that we can apply to slides.
How to apply transitions on slides
➤ Select the desired slide on which to apply the transition
➤ Click the Transitions tab
➤ Click the drop down arrow to display all the transitions

➤ Now click on the effect that you want to apply to the slide.
➤ This transition is only applied to the selected slide. If the same effect is to be applied to all slides then click on "Apply To All" in the 'Timing group'.
Advance slide |
➤ If you want the next slide to appear automatically after some time instead of a Mouse click, un check "On Mouse Click" in "Advance Slide" and set the time in "After" after which the slides will appear.
➤ If you want the slides effect to appear faster then reduce the time in the "Duration" option and increase the time if slower.
➤ Use the Sound option to apply sound to slides.
➤ After applying the effect, click on Preview to see the effect.
